10 Times in 125 Years?

The great Philadelphia sports writer Bill Lyon, now retired, has become the 21st century equivalent of Kate Smith. Brought out for special sporting occasions. The Phillies improbable playoff appearance is just such an event worthy of Lyons’ pen.

But can it really be that the Phillies are in the post-season for only the 10th time in 125 years? 1915, 1950, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1993. More amazing, I’ve been alive and remember all but 1915 and 1950.
