More on Lidge Deal

My most knowledgeable of baseball friends comments on the Lidge-Bourn deal: “My only questions are (1) is Lidge there mentally -- if not, Philly will only exacerbate that problem, and (2) can he succeed as a hard-throwing fly ball pitcher in that wiffle ball park.” Um, hopefully a change of scenery will solve #1 and as for #2 the preliminary answer has to be….no.

 

Coincidentally, in my fantasy NL baseball league this past season I actually traded Bourn and some others for Lidge and some others. Thankfully, that makes me the anti-Ed Wade of fantasy baseball.
